AKKAW stands for Advancing Knowledge SKills and Attitude at the Workplace. This program provides capacity development interventions to Provincial and Field Officers/personnel to increase productivity and improve its quality performance. In addition, the program’s title was derived from the term AKKAW /ak-káw/ which is an expression used by the people of Aurora province in multiple ways. More frequently, it is used to exclaim amazement or wonder. The DILG-AKKAW will also motivate the employees to strive for excellence through undergoing training. Moreover, strengthened internal governance capacity translates into the competency framework adopted by the Department to build the capacities of its people. This program will be for both the LGOOs and Non-LGOOs and will cover the 3 types of competencies namely: Core Competency; Leadership Competency; and Functional Competency.
