The Seal of Good Local Governance is an award, incentive, honor and recognition-based program for all local government units and is a continuing commitment for LGUs to continually progress and improve their performance across governance areas. It was institutionalized through the enactment of Republic Act 11292 or the SGLG Act. The Seal maintains the "All-in" assessment approach where a local government must pass ALL governance areas aimed to: (1) Financial Administration and Sustainability; (2) Disaster Preparedness; (3) Social Protection and Sensitivity; (4) Health Compliance and Responsiveness; (5) Sustainable Education; (6) Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; (7) Safety, Peace and Order; (8) Environmental Management; (9) Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and the Arts; and (10) Youth Development.

The Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) is a performance assessment and recognition system that aims to give distinction to barangays with remarkable performance across governance areas. It also intends to encourage barangays to continuously progress in delivering efficient, equitable and quality public services. It puts primacy to integrity and good performance as pillars of meaningful local autonomy and development.
The Citizen Satisfaction Index System is a set of data tools designed to collect & generate relevant feedback on local government’s service delivery performance and on the citizens’ general satisfaction. The CSIS conceptualizes the citizen as the center of local government performance. The Department of the Interior and Local Government is committed to aggressively scaling up interventions towards a kind of governance that values transparency, accountability, participation, and performance.
The Newly Elected Officials (NEO) Program is a flagship program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to prepare and develop the capacities of newly-elected local officials. It is spearheaded by the Local Government Academy (LGA) in partnership with the leagues of local governments, national government agencies, civil society organizations and local resource institutions.
The Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) is a diagnostic tool to assess poverty in the barangay, municipal, city, and provincial level. It provides policymakers and program implementers with a good information base for tracking the impacts of macroeconomic reforms and various policy shocks. It addresses the lack of necessary disaggregated data for diagnosing extent of poverty at the local level, determines the causes of poverty, serves as a guide for formulating appropriate policies and programs, identifies eligible beneficiaries, and assesses the impact of policies and programs.
